Leyla graduated from Bristol University in 2008 and started at Summerhill Vets in June of the
following year. She initially worked between the main hospital in Newport and the Summerwood clinic in Blackwood, before settling into a full time role at Summerhill. In October 2015 she headed up the team at the new mini clinic in Highcross, as well as taking her veterinary services on to the road with the mobile home visiting service.
Leyla enjoys all aspects of small animal medicine, but has a particular interest in behaviour, having
completed an additional degree in Animal Behaviour and Welfare during her time at
University. Originally from Bristol, she now lives in Caerleon with her husband and two rescue dogs, Bruce and Patsy.
She used to enjoy camper van trips to the Pembrokeshire coast, long dog walks, music festivals, gin and keeping fit... she now mostly enjoys sleeping, having left to have her first child in June 2017.
